3D tracheobronchial stents of AnatomikModeling presented at the congress of the ATS in San Diego

Doctor Nicolas Guibert, pulmonologist at the hospital of Toulouse, was at the American Thoracic Society congress in San Diego from the 18th to the 23rd of May, 2018. This convention gathers specialists from all around the world concerning respiratory medicine.

In fact, AnatomikModeling works hand in hand with the interventional pulmonology service of Toulouse hospital since two years, to develop 3D custom-made tracheobronchial stents that fits perfectly patients’ anatomy. Those innovative devices are aimed to treat patients with complex stenosis to whom standard prostheses do not fit because of the non-suitability regarding their anatomy. It helps also limiting post operatory complications (migration, granuloma,..) and to finally improve patients’ life quality.

The communication realised by the doctor Guibert during the ATS: “Treatment of complex central airway stenoses using computer-assisted customized 3D stents” allowed him to expose the first results concerning the patients he already treated and followed. The results of this first clinical phase are really encouraging, particularly concerning bronchial implants where congruence is excellent.
